When I first started blogging my one of my favourite types of posts to write was monthly favourites. I have always loved reading others favourites and still do so I decided to bring them back this month for anyone else who is like me! I’m already a bit late in the month posting this, but I’ll try to be on time from now on. Keep reading to see all the trends, clothes, makeup and lots of random things I loved during the month of March.
Favourite New Clothes
There is a kind of 1990’s vibe with dungarees and I love it. The dungaree dress or pinafore style is so easy to wear that I bought two pairs from Topshop. One in black and one in denim. I love how easy it is to create a casual look but also easy to style dungarees in a really chic way. I’ve been seeing these dungarees all over the high street in various fabrics, colours and shapes but the best I have seen so far is from TopShop. It’s still quite chilly outside, so I’ve been wearing mine with black tights and either a casual tee and a leather jacket or a white blouse, and camel coat with pointed-toe pumps. There are endless ways to style them so I made a Pinterest board to refer back to so that I have plenty ideas as the weather changes.
Another clothing buy I have loved is my TopShop black flares. Flares have been back for awhile but as someone who is on the smallish side (I’m 5.5) I didn’t think I would be able to pull them off. The pair I found in TopShop was such a perfect height for me, when I’m in flats they ever so slightly graze off the ground but are perfect with a little-healed boot. The shape is so flattering and without tooting my own horn, my butt looks its best in these jeans!
Lastly, I have been loving logo tees again. I picked this cute pink and red one (I love that colour combo so much!) from Topshop.
I know a lot of you probably already follow The Skin Nerd, and if you are not then you need to! I trust everything she says because she backs up her claims with science and is not affiliated with any brands so you know you can trust the products she recommends. She came out with her own product, the Cleanse off Mitt and I finally got around to trying it out. Well, let’s just say I will NEVER think about using a face wipe again. I typically don’t use face wipes anyway but sometimes if I’ve had a few drinks or I’m travelling then I’ll be lazy and reach for them. The Cleanse off Mitt is the easiest way to take off your makeup and all you need is water. I didn’t believe this until I tried it.
What are products my mitt takes off the most? Well in March it was definitely Florme Foundation. I’ve actually been wearing this foundation for months now and still love it. The coverage is amazing and the price is cheap as chips making it perfect for everyday wear. It stays on all day and is one of the only budget foundations I trust. I’ve had a few people compliment my makeup when wearing it and ask what foundation it is. I LOVE saying it’s from Pennys! I use shades 105 and 101 depending on my tan. The shades are very confusing and the numbers on the bottle don’t represent the shades, for example, the 105 is paler than the 105. The only way to really know your shade is by testing them in store or by having a look on the Florme website.
The third beauty product I fell in love with in March was Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter. It is AMAZING. I already did a full review on it which you can read HERE.
In March I undertook the task of doing up a room in my house. I wanted to create a nice space for me to work in but also chill out and watch TV. My own office come living room. I didn’t want to spend too much so I was delighted to find so many great things in IKEA and Primark that transformed the room. I have always wanted to create a gallery wall and now IKEA makes it so simple with their gallery frame set. I just need to pick photos for the frames now!. I wanted a new rug for the room and picked one up from Ikea that was perfect for the design I had in mind. Rugs can be pricey but this one is very reasonable yet good quality.
Primark Home is a dream to explore. I picked up so many random bits, more than I really needed! The website doesn’t show many of them but just take a visit to the stores and you’ll find lot’s of great stuff for ridiculously good prices.
I kinda love perfume rollers way more than the bottles. They are so much easier to carry in your handbag and only go on the exact spots you want. I honestly think I have a problem where perfume just disappears on me after seconds but I find oil perfumes stay on so much longer, in fact, I only really wear oil perfumes now. The & Other Stories perfume rollers are such a good price and the sents are divine. I have fallen in love with the Sardonyx Fire sent and also use the bath products too.
I’m obsessed with this book series and cannot wait for the movie to come out later in the year. View my March Book Club Recommendations for more reviews HERE.
My obsession with podcasts continues and I have been listening to lots of new ones this month. Two standouts for me have been Make Speidi Famous Again with Spenser and Hedi Partt and Private Parts by Jamie Laing and Francis Boulle. Both podcasts are hilarious and have some great guests with juicy gossip.
