New York is a crazy place for many reasons and I have come to realize the weather is on one of those reasons. The mild December temperatures were short-lived as I woke up to bitter -5 coldness and, according to my weather app, “feels like -16”. You can never wear enough layers on a day like that and on this particular day I wore so many I could barely move! I bought all these items in Ireland knowing I needed to be prepared for New Yorks baltic winter. Pennys/ Primark was surprisingly my go to for warm winter knits. I picked up about eight different sweaters but this gray turtleneck jumper is my favorite. It has been a savior for keeping me warm and looks good under any coat. I almost wish I had bought a second one.
My waterfall coat from BooHoo has also been another item I have been constantly grabbing on my way out the door. The length is perfect and color matches every outfit. It won’t be ideal when the snow kicks in (I have a not so stylish black puffa jacket for those days), but it is the perfect coat to warm up with, paired with a sweater underneath. BooHoo.com have a great collection of these coats in all colors.

My final winter wardrobe staple have been these black leather trousers. The leather and soft suede on the inside mean no cold is getting near my legs! This pair is so warm that I can only wear them during winter when it’s cold. I bought them last year in TopShop.
About this time last year I wrote a watch shopping guide with all my favorite watches. I had also just treated myself to a Larsson & Jennings watch which hasn’t left my wrist since. I couldn’t begin to count the number of compliments it has gotten over the last year. But I was beginning to search for another one to add to my collection when JORD Wood Watches reached out to me and kindly let me select a watch from their collection. I think wood watches are really unique looking and definitely becoming a trend. I had started to notice them more and more in shops before I heard of JORD.
The JORD brand is run by artists and designers who focus on creating modern timepieces. They use sustainable woods from all over the world, such as sandalwood, bamboo, zebra wood, maple, KOA just to name a few.
I choose the Koa and Black wood from their Dover series. I love the masculine feel of the dark wood and black face with the visible automatic watch movements. Another personal favorite of mine is the super feminine Koa & Ash from the Frankie series.

JORD have a great selection of both men’s and women’s watches, and the good news is I have partnered with JORD to run a competition so one of you can win a $100 gift voucher off a JORD watch of your choice. And the best part is that everyone who enters will receive a $25 gift voucher! I think they are an ideal Christmas gift for someone who likes unique and trendy statement pieces.
