Now that the cold has settled, and with only a week before my big move to New York where it is even colder, I went on the hunt for some last minute winter items. I found this blue skirt and baby pink turtle neck jumper in Dunnes Stores. Dunnes has really upped its game over the last year, I always see items I cannot leave without especially for the winter. I loved the cool colors of both this skirt and jumper and thought they worked perfectly together for a November look.

For the longest time I have searched for the perfect pair of knee high boots. That means boots that don’t slouch or fall down my legs, and that don’t have lots of leg space making my thighs look much bigger than they are! I already own a pair that are suede and elastic but not tight enough and not good in wet weather. I also own a pair that tie at the top of the leg but still fall down, and a leather pair with way too much leg space. So I had pretty much given up at this stage!
However, last week while at the Kildare Village Christmas launch I paid a visit to the Kurt Geiger store where I found these beauties. I was instantly drawn to their gold buckle heel (I have a thing for gold buckle heels, I already own two other pairs of ankle boots like this haha). When I tried them on and saw how perfectly they fit and stayed in place, I had my purse out quicker than lightening! They’re so comfortable and I just know they will be perfect while walking around freezing New York this winter.
Unfortunately I can’t find the exact link for these leather boots but it’s possible they will still have them in the Kildare Village store as it was only last week when I got my pair.
The boots in suede can be found here.
And the leather boots without gold buckles can be found here.
So next week is my last in Dublin for quite some time. I don’t plan on coming home until this time next year as I would prefer to spend all my annual leave (a whole 10 or 11 days *cry*) traveling America. I hope to do lots of weekend trips throughout the year. So I find myself wanting to visit all my favorite places in Dublin and of course seeing my family and friends one last time next week before I leave. I also need to try pack my life into two suitcases (pray for me) and hang out with my dog as much as possible in the hopes that he doesn’t forget me 🙁
It’s only now that it is starting to kick in, although I don’t think I will fully realize it until I’m actually in the airport!
There is a lot to do and a lot to see over the next week. But I couldn’t be more excited and these things definitely make you appreciate home more.
Have you ever lived abroad? I would love to hear about your experience of leaving your home in the comments below 🙂
