It’s September and that means Autumn/ Winter fashion, and new trends are upon us. I love to see all the trends that grace the catwalks each season even if they are not very wearable. It’s all about inspiration and the fun part is finding ways to incorporate the styles in your own way. After hours of catching up on season 4, I gathered all the hottest trends of New York Fashion Week 2016.

Statement Fur
Fur coats for winter weather, faux or real never go out of style. But this year sees a fur revamp using bold colours and prints.

Ruffles
Structured high-fashion ruffles is one of the biggest trends for this season. Ruffled sleeves on knits and tops, and pants with ruffled ends will be seen on fashionable people everywhere.

Shades of Tan
From muted khaki to soft camel we can expect to see nearly 50 shades of tan for outer wear, knits, pants, and dresses.

Velvet
Luxurious velvet made many catwalk appearances this fashion week and looks to be the most popular textile of the season.

Gold Metallic
No longer just for glitzy grandmas and Las Vegas party’s. We saw sheer maxis, tops and pants in gold metallic.

Embellishments & Beading

Dresses with Layers
We have seen the high street touch on this recently with top’s underneath dresses, and this trend was all over the catwalks too. So hold off on removing your summer dresses from your wardrobe because with this trend you can wear your summer favourites in winter.

Chokers
Another trend making it from summer to winter is chokers. But think bigger, more detail and fancy. Having anything around your neck will add a little extra oomph like a silk scarf, chunky lace, or a tight necklace.
